President’s Message – March 2012

I hope that you all had a very enjoyable St Patrick’s Season; I had the chance to meet with many divisions and brothers over the last month and enjoyed the “craic”. Last parade is this Saturday in Burlington/Mt Holly 1pm start; close out the season in style and stop by.

Sunday April 15th at the Msgr. Crean AOH 2419 Kuser Rd Hamilton NJ 08690 the NJ State Board will be sponsoring a major degree. NJ Vice President Kevin Weldon is chairing; Kevin sent out a mailing in early March and will be following up with all divisions. As the leaders of our organization it is our obligation to make sure our members take the degree in a timely manner. Please contact Kevin by April 9th with your numbers of candidates and observers; cost per person is $30 and will include light breakfast and dinner afterwards.

Saturday May 19th at the Taj Mahal Atlantic City NJ
State Board meeting @ 100pm; this will be preceded by an AOH leadership seminar from 1000am to noon. Your state board will host a meeting that will cover the proper procedures and decorum of division and board meetings; we will review the roles and responsibilities of division and state officers; national programs, best practices and have time to address any questions from the floor. The reason for this seminar is that many divisions have asked state officers in our travels for direction and advice regarding meetings, best practices and AOH programs, we hope that you will be able to attend this seminar. Please submit any questions you may have and would want answered to me and we will make sure to cover at the seminar.
The Taj Mahal has set aside rooms at $199 a night for AOH members staying over; to reserve a room you must contact state VP Kevin Weldon.

Please let me know how many members will be attending the National convention this year; Past NJ President Jere Cole will be running for re-election for National Director and we will want to get as many delegates to the convention as possible to support Jere.
