2015Monmouth 32 Dinner Dance
The Ancient Order of Hibernians Division #32 of Belmar, New Jersey held their Annual Charity Dinner Dance on Saturday, November 148, 2015 at Doolans Shore Club in Spring Lake, New Jersey. The goal of the event was to raise funds for their annual scholarship programs dedicated to local elementary schools. Attendees included the Women of Irish Heritage, the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, Jersey Shore and the Pipes and Drums of the Jersey Shore. The welcome was given by Division #32 President Ray Barnes and entertainment was provided by the Snakes.
The Division honored members and local dignitaries for their honorable and tireless efforts during the past year. The recipient of the Hibernian of the Year Award was Division #32 past President and founder Kevin Weldon, Division #32 member and Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh of the Jersey Shore past President Matthew Sharin received the Irishman of the Year award. Women of Irish Heritage, Jersey Shore, past President, Mary Keaney and Division Chaplain and Pastor of the Church of the Ascension, Bradley Beach, Reverend Jerome Nolan, were both presented with the John Cardinal O’Connor Award for their continued service.
The Ancient Order of Hibernians John Cardinal OConnor Division #32 is based out of Belmar, New Jersey. The Ancient Order of Hibernians is Americas oldest Irish Catholic Fraternal Organization and was founded concurrently in the coal-mining region of Pennsylvania and New York City in May, 1836.
