Leadership Seminar & State Board Meeting

The NJAOH will hold an AOH Leadership Seminar from 10AM to 12 noon on Saturday May 19th at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City NJ. This seminar is sponsored by the NJ State Board and will precede our scheduled state board meeting. It is the goal of this seminar to familiarize all Hibernians with our leadership and organization and to encourage recruitment, retention and a better understanding of our Order.

At 10:00am a panel of our Brother Hibernians have been invited to focus on the following topics:

  • AOH Officer & Member: Roles, responsibilities & duties
  • AOH Hall, Meeting and Ceremonies: Layout and Decorum
  • Our Constitution & Bylaws and Robert’s Rules of Order: “For the Good of Our Order”
  • Administration, Recruitment & Retention.

Time will also be set aside to answer questions after each topic. There will be a one hour break between end of seminar and start of state board meeting which will commence at 1PM at the same location.

As a leader of the AOH in NJ we hope that you make every effort to attend this important event and bring as many officers and members as possible. May 19th will be an important and high profile day for the NJ AOH in addition to the seminar and quarterly state board meeting at 1pm, many National officers have already indicated that they will attend. The Atlantic City Tourism Board and the Taj Mahal will be presenting their bid for the 2016 National Convention to our members so that we can approve it before their final presentation at the National convention in Turning Stone in July.

Our state board meeting will run from 1PM to 3PM. If you would like a room to stay the evening a special rate for NJ AOH members has been extended by the Taj Mahal, please contact State Vice President, Kevin Weldon at (732) 986-8336. It is the home church of NJ newest AOH division, Atlantic County Division #1, The Officer Thomas McMeekin Jr. Memorial Division whose chaplain Monsignor Hodge is pastor.

Additionally the good brothers of The Officer Thomas McMeekin Jr. Memorial Division of Atlantic County, would like to extend an invitation to all AOH members to join them at their “home Pub”, Maloney’s Uptown. Located on the Boardwalk block of Tennessee Ave. Just across Pacific Ave from St. Nicholas church.
