2012Day of Caring Thank You
To My Irish Brothers,
I was amazed with the turnout and how as AOH and LAOH members came out and helped one another and the entire town of Belmar. We had more than 35 members that worked on at least 8 homes from cleaning up branches and trees, ripping out tile, painting and even power washing a house, to cleaning windows, bathrooms and the kitchen floor. I would not have asked the man upstairs for a better crew of workers. We even had our own grill master for the day both in LBI and Belmar!
In LBI, I have heard that about 8-10 guys showed up to assist in recovery efforts in that area and they were very thankful for our assistance.
I am sure we all have stories on how we helped and how it impacted it our lives and their lives as they rebuild. I had one person walk up to me and said Thank you, you saved my life. To me, this is what the AOH and LAOH is about living our motto of Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity.
THANK YOU for coming and helping those in need. I know NJAOH is already discussing next steps in assisting our brothers indeed and will keep you posted on those efforts.
Again THANK YOU for coming out and I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
GO IRISH!
